International Residential Code
Building codes have long been established as a means of protecting homeowners and ensuring that structures are built in such a way that they will perform satisfactorily over time.
The Dryvit Residential MDŽ and Sprint MDŽ systems have been evaluated and comply to all the major building codes in the United States. Because Dryvit has always considered stringent testing to be a crucial element of its products performance, all Dryvit EIF systems have been subjected to testing that vastly exceeds building code standards at many levels. You can rest assured that your Dryvit exterior insulation and finish system is a high-performance cladding system that conforms to the highest standards in residential construction.
For your convenience, we have provided a link to the International Code Council (www.icc-es.org/reports/index.cfm) that provides a list of various evaluation reports held by Dryvit. Through this link (report ESR 1547) you can see that our Residential MD and Sprint MD systems meet the 2003 International Residential Code (IRC), 2003 International Building Code (IBC), 1999 National Building Code, 1997 Uniform Building Code, and the 1999 Standard Building Code. You can also view the report if you wish. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the report.
Currently, most states have adopted the 2003 International Codes; however, some states include addendums to which the systems or products must be evaluated. For instance the state of Florida has its own building code that is based on the International Codes, yet has included requirements for hurricanes. The Dryvit Residential MD and Sprint MD systems as well as other Dryvit systems have been evaluated and comply with the 2004 Florida Building Code (http://www.floridabuilding.org/pr/pr_app_srch.aspx), where you will find two reports listed: FL2030 High Velocity Impact Zones and FL3423 For Zones Other Than High Velocity Impact.
